How Confidence Overflows in Rejoicing

Confidence in God is an attitude of gratitude, thanksgiving, joy, love, and peace. Confidence is the fruit of trust (Psalm 34:8; 5:11-12; 28:7-9).

Confidence is the fruit of fellowship with the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14 NLT) and a deeper revelation of God’s love (Ephesians 1:17-18; 3:17-19; Isaiah 54:10 NIV). It is learned, not earned. I can’t earn something that’s already freely given (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Rejoicing enhances confidence because it keeps my eyes on God and who He is (Isaiah 12:2), not on myself and how I feel (Psalm 42:5).

Rejoicing reinforces security because I’m focused on praising God for who He is and what He’s done, and that focus reminds me of His power, majesty, glory, beauty, and love (Isaiah 12:2; Psalm 107:1; 103:1-6).

Rejoicing comes comes from an enlightened heart (Habakkuk 3:17-19), a healed heart (Isaiah 61:1-3), and a singing heart (Psalm 149).

The confidence that overflows in rejoicing keeps me from being poisoned by offence that’s out to steal my peace and kill my joy.

I am confident when my eyes are on Jesus, my heart is full of His Word, and my trust is in who He is and what He’s able to do, not in who I am and what I’m able to do.

Where is your confidence today?

    Thanks Otiti!

My confidence is in Psalm 34:5 … ‘They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.’

    Hallelujah.
