What if it’s easy?
What if it’s joyful?
What if it’s powerful?
What if it’s you?
We often think it has to be super hard and painful before it’s valuable, but that’s not true. It can be fun, easy, and joyful, and still be super valuable.
Dancing to your own rhythm is finding your sweet spot and rocking it out because it just feels so fricking good. It’s doing it your way, at your own pace, and still acing it.
It’s making beautiful life art dripping with your special sauce and bursting with colour and flavour. It’s owning your creative energy and putting your rock star signature on everything you do.
Just because it comes easy to you doesn’t mean it comes easy to everyone else, and that’s what makes it so valuable. It’s not rocket science (unless it is), it’s just the way you move and groove through the world, and it rocks because it’s you.
You’re not trying to copy that social media celeb who always goes viral, or impress that hotshot CEO you’ve admired forever, or “fake it ’til you make it” ’cause you’re tryna keep up with everyone else.
You’re just being you, dancing to your own rhythm, working your vision, and using what you’ve got to get what you want.
Sound familiar?
I’m not saying you’ll never have to work hard or feel pain or fail, but I am saying that it can be fun, easy, joyful, and powerful to be who you are and let that be enough.
I’m saying you can show up as your fullest self and blow your own dang mind with what you’re capable of when you dominate your sweet spot.
I’m saying you can be the rock star creative who dazzles the world with your genius and fire.
And it doesn’t have to be big and outlandish, and it doesn’t have to be super complicated, and it doesn’t have to stress you out or drive you crazy!
It just has to matter enough to you to show up and be yourself and have fun doing what no one else can or will do.
Maybe you’re the friend who always gives the best advice or the most thoughtful gifts or never forgets a birthday.
Maybe you’re the business owner who sends beautiful handwritten postcards to clients and acquaintances (me too!).
Maybe you’re the family member who always has a kind word, a listening ear, and a Bible verse for every storm, heartache, and dark night of the soul.
See what I mean?
It’s so easy for you, but it’s incredibly hard for other people, and not everybody cares enough to develop that particular skill or quirk or gift, and that’s why you stand out.
Again, easy doesn’t mean it’s not valuable; don’t look down on it!
For example, back in May, I discover how powerful it is to rock my sweet spot.
Here’s how it goes down:
I DM a new follower on Instagram to thank her for following me and ask her about her business. We really connect, so we schedule a 30-min video call (that stretches to 2 hours!), and she gives me some helpful tips for my website and business.
I have a great time, so I write her a thank-you postcard and go my merry way. One week later, she interviews and hires me to write a sales page for her because I made the effort to reach out and stand out, and I’m blown away because I was just being me!
I’m not trying to impress her or drum up new business when I send her the postcard. I’m simply grateful for her time and expertise because life moves really fast these days and deeper connections are getting rarer by the minute.
This is how it works, people. Dancing to your own rhythm, being generous, and dominating your sweet spot takes you where you want to go, even when you think nobody’s watching. Especially when you think nobody’s watching.
You never know where it’ll lead, so why not be your brightest self and sparkle everywhere you go?
Yes, there’s a place for going another round when you think you can’t, and doing what you say you’re going to do even when you don’t know how you’re going to do it, and showing up even when you want to hide under your blankie in a dark room.
And there’s also room for ease, for joy, for fun, for dancing to your own rhythm and being your brightest self and doing the things only you can do. For rocking it out and making your art and sculpting your star ideas and blessing us with your genius. For being you, the gorgeous, vibrant soul that your people know and love.
So don’t be afraid to embrace what’s easy and fun and joyful and powerful for you. Don’t underestimate how valuable you are and what impact you make on other people.
They may never tell you, but you’re making a difference and you matter and you got this!!
