You’re barrelling along, making waves, doing big things. Your creative juices are FLOWING and you’re spitting out project ideas faster than you can implement them.
Then all of a sudden, you grind to a halt. You can’t create anymore. Your soul is arid. Your mind is barren of ideas. And frighteningly enough, you can’t be moved to care. Whatever can be done?
Simple. Strap a rocket to your heart. Allow me illustrate.
Get Your Groove Back
To be clear, I’m not talking about burnout or writer’s/creator’s block here. I’m talking about falling out of love with what you do when you hit a huge road bump that throws you for six and makes it impossible to get your groove back.
That’s the situation I find myself in right now. I know I’m not burnt out because I haven’t done anything, and I certainly don’t have writer’s block if I can send out my newsletter every Sunday and write here every Tuesday.
Sooo, what’s up? I’m falling out of love with writing. My identity has become so wrapped up in it, my sense of self so dependent on the blogosphere, that I find myself wondering who I am without it.
What if it’s no longer something I want to do? What if it’s time to try something else? What if I’m just sick and tired of it?
Well, I’m working stuff out at the moment.
But in the meantime, I can still use it to make my point as I strap rockets to your haert and mine so we keep things moving right along. To that end, I give you the following offerings of my past genius:
5 Posts to Spark Your Mojo
Gouge the Surface: As the name implies, it’s all about tearing apart the surface to get to the treasures at your core. When was the last time you connected with your world on a visceral level? Right from your core for 24 hours?
Mine was 4 months ago on my birthday, June 27th. Sigh. I’ve pulled off being intensely connected since then but only for a few hours at a time.
Imagine what things could be like if we achieved this on a daily basis.
Gouge the Surface was super popular when I published it, which is hard to tell now because the counters reset after I moved domains and switched my theme. The words still ring true today, though.
Voice Your Soul: I firmly believe each soul is a treasure trove of insight and beauty. BUT, so much is lost because we’re afraid of speaking our truths. Well, read this and go forth and speak!
Life is too precious to spend it silent and aching from the weight of your unshared idea gems, folks. Can I get an amen, somebody!? 😀
Of Stardust + Audacious Cosmic Energy: Every now and then, we need swift kicks up the head to get going, already. I got mine from two separate sources within two days and just had to share my experience.
As always, it’s less about me and more about you. Let’s get audacious, shall we?
Bleed Your Truth: Do you ever feel like you’re living the monochrome version of the life you’d like to have? Like you’re holding back from expressing yourself for fear of how you’ll be perceived by other people?
Bleed your truth and fly your freak flag with pride, baby.
What Are You Willing to Give?: Just before a big venture or major change in your life, you pause to take stock of things. How far are you willing to go? What’s acceptable and what’s not? Is there a timeline involved? You know, stuff like that.
Now, how often do you stop to ask yourself what you’re willing to give to your soul’s calling? It’s über important so you might want to get on it stat.
I had no idea I’d get so many comments on this post. Perhaps you’ll add something to the conversation? 😉
Now, Over to You
I’d love to know how you strap a rocket to your heart when things slow down or get yucky. Tell me your experiences in the comments below.
And if you’ve enjoyed this post, please share it with your peeps. Thank you, m’dears. 🙂
