I dare you to truly listen. To feel my pain as I share it. To refrain from platitudes and pat answers.
I dare you to feel my heart beating with the pulse of my soul.
I dare you to witness my suffering as it is without minimising or dismissing it.
I dare you to sit with me in my time of need, and find the courage to experience my fear without turning and running.
I dare you to stay with me as I battle the insecurity and uncertainty.
I dare you to be my mirror; take me as I am without forcing me to fit into your interpretation of my situation.
I dare you to see life from my perspective, and appreciate that everything isn’t set in stone.
I dare you to see me.
Whenever someone comes to you with a problem, that person needs you to step up and really be present. Listen. Connect.
Nobody needs your sympathy or judgement; we just need your empathy. We need you to be there for us. We need you to really care.
So, how about it? Will you be there? I hope your answer is yes.
Mine is. Yes.
