Build Your Cathedral

Build your cathedral. Pour a foundation sturdy enough to support the mightiest of structures and the grandest of visions. Christen your temple with fire and magic, with sacred words that call forth the unique expression of Divine Power nestled in you. Fling your doors open wide and let in the supporting cast of angels, inspiration, and serendipity at your disposal. Let your heart shine and evolve as you grow into more of your Highest Self.

Build your cathedral. Name your temple. Make your art, the art that feels good to make.

In case you’re wondering who you are to build something grand, who are you not to? Why shouldn’t you give yourself the chance to wow yourself and the world with what you’ve got to offer? Why not answer the call of your Soul and dance to the beat pulsing in your blood?

Why not live?

Fully. Boldly. Giving it your all because you believe in it all. That’s what you’re here to do. Give us something to make us care. Give us something to make us feel.

You can’t build your cathedral with someone else’s sketches for a condo. You have to dig deep and do what really feels true for you, not what you think you “should” be doing.

It’s not about what you should do. It’s about what you’re called to do.

What’s your heart saying right now?

Here’s what mine’s saying:

I want you to know that you are a joy to be around.

I want you to know that you can’t put a price tag on your energy and beauty.

I want you to know that you don’t need a Porsche before you can be a rock star.

I want you to know that you don’t need a guru before you can be wise.

I want you to know that you have a powerful story to tell.

I want you to know that your gift is needed.

I want you to know that your tribe is forming.

I want you to know that your ideal reality is calling.

I want you to know that your intuition will lead you home.

I want you to know that you don’t need a compass or map to get where you’re going;  you have Divine guidance every step of the way.

I want you to know that you are free to name your temple.

I want you to know that you are free to build your cathedral.

I want you to know that you are destined for success because you show up.

I want you to know that your frustration is only temporary.

I want you to know that your joy is power.

I want you to know that you are loved.

Now is the time to shake it up. Now is the time to blossom in your own skin and dance in your power. Now is the time to live in line with your values. Now is the time to discover your true Self.

Blaze a trail in the heavens. You are made of stars. Quit dimming your shine.

By the way, doing the work doesn’t mean trudging uphill all the time. It means finding the lightning that shakes it up. It means going beyond what’s probable so you discover what’s possible. It means trusting the Divine and showing up every day even when you don’t feel like it. It means sharing your gifts because that’s why you’re here. It means being useful. It means being open to faith and intuition. It means living as fully as you can for as long as you can.

It means having the courage to dare yourself to greater heights.

In Ken Follett’s epic novel The Pillars of the Earth, some individuals dedicated their whole lives to building the Knightsbridge cathedral. This was back in the Middle Ages, by the way. The vision of a mighty cathedral mesmerised generations of artists, monks, masons, and builders – they gave all they had so they could build all they had to give.

That’s the kind of dedication we need to feed our fire and guide our path. That’s what it takes to build your cathedral. That’s what it takes to actualise your sweeping vision in tangible, measurable ways.

Everything worth building, worth giving, worth loving, starts as a tiny seed in your imagination. Every great invention starts out improbable because it doesn’t yet exist until we make the effort to bring it into our existence. Every great work of art begins on paper or screen until we translate it into something real.

Wondering if you have what it takes is just an excuse. Thinking you’ll never make it is another. Knowing you’ve got the moves to figure it out is the true path of every visionary, artist, creative, and soul seeker.

You’ll figure it out.

In the comments below, tell me: how you’re going to build your cathedral?

  1. I am building myself and my cathedral by using trust… trusting myself ( which I had never really done, at least not this much before now) to make good choices and decisions instead of relying on others… something that I have ALWAYS done in the past; using self-love which I have been “growing” over the past year, but mostly within the past 6 months… I have learned over the past few months how much I had to learn about myself, how much I still needed to change ( things I thought I already had, and I was sadly mistaken) and things I needed to accept in order to grow and love myself; by using confidence in myself… by believing that I can do what I want to do… what I dreamt of. USE MY TALENTS. :) By not backing down Not letting others talk me out of things that I want…. by NOT letting anyone or anything get into my head and turning my thoughts around. I am able to do anything I want to do…. and I CAN BE A SUCCESS AT WHAT EVER I WANT TO BE…. WHENEVER I WANT TO BE. This is a plan… for me…. :)
this is my cathedral… with the most beautiful stained glass that sparkles when the sunshine hits it reflecting such pretty designs onto the surfaces below. :)

    • YES! Trusting yourself is the first step to building something worthwhile. I’m so glad you’re having brighter days and discovering more of your true self. 😉

LOVE the stained glass metaphor, by the way. :)
